Beerakaya/Ridge Gourd Pachadi Recipe




Ingredients:
  • Beerakaya/ Ridge Gourd - 1 chopped
  • Green Chilli - 2 chopped
  • Red chilli/ Endu Mirpakaya - 1
  • Senaga Pappu/ Chana Dal - 1 tbsp
  • Minapappu/ Urad Dal - 1 tbsp
  • Avalu/Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Jeelakarra/Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  • Chintapandu/ Tamarind - 1tbsp soaked in water
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste 
Method: 
  • Heat oil in a pan. 
  • Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Once spulttering starts add red chilli, chana dal, urad dal and green chillies and fry for 5minutes.
  • Now add chopped ridge gourd/beerakaya mukkalu and fry for 15minutes or until ridge gourd is tender.
  • Cool the above mixture then grind it along with tamarind and salt, if required add few water.
