Fish Curry




What You Need:
  • Fish -1 Kg
  • Onions- 2 medium chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2tbsp
  • Dry grated coconut -1/2cup
  • Corinder/Dhaniya powder- 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder -1 tsp
  • Jeelakarra/Cumin seeds - 1tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds/ menthulu -1/2tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Cardamom/Elachi - 4
  • Lavanga/Cloves - 2
  • Cinnamon/Dalchini - 1small stick
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1tbsp
  • Oil- 5tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Preparation:
  • Wash fish pieces thoroughly using Lemon Juice, Rice powder and salt for 3 times. Then finally wash with plain water and keep aside.
  •  Marinate these fish pieces with salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder dhaniya powder, ginger garlic paste and garam masala  for 10 to 15 minutes.

For Fish Masala:
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil. Add Jeelakarra/cumin seeds, Methi seeds/menthulu , chopped onions, grated coconut. Fry for 5minutes. Cool down and grind to a fine paste.
Method:
  • Heat remaining oil in a pan. 
  • Add Elachi, Lavanga/cloves, Dalichini chakka and saute for a minute.
  • Add marinated fish pieces and fry for 5minutes.
  • Now add fish masala and mix it carefully. Close the lid and cook for 15 to 20minutes or until the fish is well cooked.
  • Finally garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
