Ingredients:
- Kandi Pappu / Toor Dal - 1 cup
- Tomatoes - 2
- Miriyalu/Peppers - 1tsp
- Garlic - 5 flakes
- Tamarind/chintapandu - 1tsp soaked in water
- Dry Red Chillies - 4
- Bellam/Jaggery 1/2tsp
- Avalu/mustard seeds - 1tsp
- Jeelakarra/Cumin Seeds - 1tsp
- Curry Leaves/Karvepaaku - 3stems
- Coriander Leaves chopped - 2tbsp
- Oil - 2tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2tsp
- Salt to taste
Method:
- Pressure Cook Kandi Pappu/Toor Dal, Tomatoes, Tamarind and Turmeric powder. Then Mash this mixture with required water. Add salt and jaggery and keep aside.
- For Jeera Mix: Roughly grind Jeelakarra, Garlic and Miriyalu(peppers).
- For Tadka: Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
- Add Jeera mix and red chillies and fry for 2minutes and turn off the stove.
- Add this tadka, curry leaves and coriander leaves to the kandi pappu mixture and heat for 5minutes (don't boil).
