What You Need:
- Aaloo/Potatoes - 250gms
- Tomatoes - 2 medium finely chopped
- Green Peas - 2tbsp (optional)
- Green Chillies - 1 chop finely
- Onion - 1 medium chop into lengthwise
- Karvepaaku/Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
- Ginger garlic paste - 1tbsp
- Avalu/mustard seeds - 1tsp
- Jeelakarra/cumin seeds - 1tsp
- Red Chilli Powder - 1tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2tsp
- Menthi powder/Fenugreek powder - a pinch(optional)
- Salt to taste
- Oil - 3 tbsp
- Boil Aaloo/Potatoes in water for 15minutes or until they are cooked. Cool Down and peel the potatoes skin and wash potatoes with cold water. Now Cut them into small cubes and keep aside.
- Now heat oil in a pan. Add avalu and jeelakarra and allow it to splutter.
- Add green chillies, curry leaves and fry for a minute.
- Add onions, turmeric powder and ginger garlic paste and fry until onion turns golden color.
- Add Green Peas, Tomatoes and fry till tomatoes are well cooked or for 10 minutes.
- Add chopped potatoes and mix well (Add little water if you want more gravy). Close it with a lid and allow it to cook for 10minutes.
- Now remove the lid. Add salt, red chilli powder, methi powder and fry for more 5 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with puris or chapatis.
