Ingredients:
- Kandi Pappu/Toor Dal - 1cup
- Tomatoes - 5 medium
- Onion - 1 small
- Red Chilli Powder - 2tbsp(if required you can add more according to ur taste)
- Garlic - 5 flakes
- Karvepaaku/curry leaves - 1 sprig
- Avalu/mustard seeds - 1tsp
- Jeelakarra - 1tsp
- Endu Mirchi/ Dry red chillies -4
- Tamarind - 1tsp soaked in water
- Oil - 2tbsp
- Salt to taste
- Wash Kandi pappu thoroughly.
- Boil Kandi pappu/toor dal, Tomatoes, Red chilli powder and onion until the kandi pappu is well cooked.
- When the pappu is well cooked, add salt and tamarind and cook for 5minutes.
- Now remove pappu from stove and mix it well using pappu rubbi.
- Now heat oil in a pan. Add avalu, jeelakarra, endu mirchi and allow it to splutter.
- Add garlic, curry leaves and fry for 2minutes.
- Add this tadka to the pappu and mix it well and boil it for 5minutes.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice, mango pickle and ghee.
