Putnala Pachadi(Roasted Gram Dal Chutney)

Ingredients:
  • Fresh Grated Coconut - 1 cup
  • Putnalu/ roasted gram dal  - 1/3cup
  • Green Chillies - 2 to 3
  • Garlic - 2 flakes
  • Chintapandu/Tamarind - 1tsp soaked in water
  • Curry Leaves/Karveepaku - 2 sprigs
  • Avalu/Mustard seeds - 1tsp
  • Minapappu/Urad dal - 1tsp
  • Dried Red Chillies - 2
  • Oil - 1tbsp
  • Salt to taste
 Method
  • Grind grated coconut, putnalu, green chillies, tamarind, garlic, salt with little water to a fine paste.
  • Now heat oil in the same pan add mustard seeds, minapappu/urad dal, and red chillies and fry for 5minutes. Add curry leaves and turn off the stove.
  • Add this tadka to grinded mixture and mix well.
  • Garnish with Coriander leaves and serve with Idli or Dosa or Pongal.
