Chikkudukaya Fry



Ingredients: 
  • Chikkudukayalu - 250gms chopped
    • Onion - 1 finely chopped
    • Green Chillies - 5 chopped
    • Garlic - 5 flakes
    • Curry Leaves/Karvepaaku - 1 stem
    • Menthi Aaku/Fenugreek leaves - 2tbsp chopped
    • Coriander leaves - 2tbsp finely chopped
    • Nuvvula podi/ Seasame powder - 2tbsp
    • Sugar - 1tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Avalu/mustard seeds- 1tsp
    • Jeelakarra/Cumin seeds - 1tsp
    • Turmeric powder - 1/2tsp
    • Oil - 2tbsp

    Method:
    • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
    • Add green chillies, curry leaves and fry for 5mintues.
    • Add onions, menthiaaku(fenugreek leaves), 1tbsp coriander leaves, garlic and turmeric powder. Fry till onions turns light golden brown.
    • Now add  chopped chikkudukayalu/broad beans and close the lid.
    • Allow it to cook until they become tender.
    • Now add nuvvula podi, sugar, salt and fry for 10mintues.
    • Garnish it with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
    • Serve hot with rice and Coriander Pepper Rasam
