Tomato Curry Recipe




Ingredients:
  • Tomatoes - 6 finely chopped
  • Onion - 1 chopped
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Green Chilli - 1 chopped
  • Garlic - 3flakes(optional)
  • Curry leaves/karvepaaku - 1 stem
  • Methi leaves/Fenugreek leaves - 2tbsp finely chopped
  • Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp finely chopped
  • Red Chilli powder - 1tbsp
  • Coriander/dhaniya powder - 1tsp
  • Methi powder/menthi podi - a pinch
  • Mustard seeds/Avalu - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds/jeelakarra - 1tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2tsp
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste

Method:
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and allow it to splutter.
  • Add green chillies, curry leaves and onions. Fry till onions turns golden color.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, garlic, turmeric powder and fry for 5minutes.
  • Add fenugreek leaves and coriander leaves and fry for 5minutes.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes and cook until they become tender or for 15minutes.
  • Add red chilli powder, dhaniya powder, methi powder and salt and cook for more 10minutes
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice and ghee or with rotis.
