Green Peas Masala Curry


What You Need:

  • Fresh Green Peas - 2cups
  • Tomato Puree - 6tbsp
  • Onion - 1 chop into 4pieces
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1tsp
  • Green Chilli paste - 2tsp
  • Coconut Milk - 2tbsp(optional)
  • Garam Masala - 1/2tsp
  • Methi Powder/Menthipindi - 1/2tsp(optional)
  • Chat Masala - 1/2tsp(optional)
  • Salt to taste 
  • Oil - 2tbsp
  • Coriander leaves chopped  - 3tbsp
How to Cook:
  • Heat 1tbsp of oil in a pan. Saute chopped onions until they turn golden color. Remove from fire and allow it to cool. Grind them to a smooth paste.
  • Now heat remaining oil in the same pan. Add onion paste, ginger garlic paste, green chilly paste and saute for 5minutes.
  • Add tomato puree, garam masala and chat masala. Mix well and fry for 10minutes.
  • Add coconut milk and mix well. Cook for 5minutes.
  • Now add fresh green peas, 1/2 cup of water, salt and mix well and close with lid. Cook for 10minutes in low flame or until the gravy thickens.
  • Finally add methi powder and mix well.
  • Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot with chapatis or rotis or puris.

Note: -If You don't have fresh green peas you can use dry green peas for this curry. All you need to do is soak dry green peas in water for 3hrs and pressure cook it for 10minutes or for 2whistles. You can add this to the curry. 
-Coconut milk is purely optional. 
-You can also add cashew nut paste(2tbsp) for the above curry.
